Bringing Back Boobs, Butts, and Feets, Pt. 5

Bringing Back Boobs, Butts, and Feets
Sometime in December, I typed the paragraphs below. Since then, quite a lot has happened, and that will be revealed in another post. Stay tuned later in the week (probably) for that.

There’s not much to report on the status of the impending release of Boobs, Butts, and Feets. Mostly I’m waiting on getting new recordings made to use instead of the uncleared movie samples. Update on that: Getting permission to use movie samples is impossible. Bleh. So as I talked about before, there are quite a few movie samples on the album. Some are going to be taken out completely, and others are going to be re-recorded by me and a couple volunteers.

Since there’s not much new to announce about progress on the official album release, I thought I would go over some reasons why you should be interested in it. This will probably get a little market-speaky, but I’ll try to keep that to a minimum.

To recap, Boobs, Butts, and Feets is an album that I began in 2005 and “finished” in 2007. It wasn’t until 2015 that I started officially releasing albums in any capacity. However, I did author 3 songs from the album to be played in the video game Rock Band. Those songs were “Everyone I Know Is an Alcoholic,” “Electro-Heaven,” and “Around the World.” That was in 2010 and 2011. Strangely, all three of those songs continue to sell in Rock Band, so many years later.

If you didn’t already know, this is the tail end of 2016. Sure, if I released BBAF 5+ years ago, it would have made a bigger splash than I’m anticipating. But there wouldn’t be any hype. The album would have been out before anyone knew about it, like years before. Now, there still is a buzz. I get messages about it, whether it’s as a reply to something I’ve posted or something completely out of the blue. That says something.

Part of me fears that fact. Like, what if it’s not as good as they are hoping. But all I have to do is listen to a song and snap back to reality. I’m genuinely super excited about releasing this album. I mean, I was excited to release Heat Stroke and Punk Rebel Renegade, but Boobs, Butts, and Feets is on another level.
