Get More Awesome Than Awesome Now!

Boom. My new album, More Awesome Than Awesome, is now available everywhere. Well, almost everywhere. Here are some links to the more popular outlets. For some reason, it’s not on YouTube yet. Every other time I’ve put out an album, it gets put on YouTube the same time as everything else. If it doesn’t go up today, I’ll get it up there tomorrow.

If your preferred music-listening-place isn’t listed below, search for it wherever you do listen to music. It should be everywhere by now except for Pandora (because it’s hard to get music put on there) and YouTube (see previous paragraph).

Amazon

Bandcamp

iTunes

Spotify

It’s a weird album. I spent much more time and money on this thing than I have any of my other albums. Not that that makes it inherently better than my other albums, but I suppose it makes me more eager to spread the word.

In the next month sometime, I’ll probably put up some kind of retrospective on the album, going into detail about the recording and overall production of the album. I’ll try to include some outtakes, clips of demo versions of the songs, etc. It should be a fun read.

Anyway, listen to More Awesome Than Awesome, if you’re bored or whatever. And tell everyone you know about it too.

Oh. I also put up a cool shirt available on Amazon that you might like too. Go here for that.

Get More Awesome Than Awesome Next Week!

Would you believe it? I’m releasing a new album finally, and it comes out next Friday! Now isn’t the time for me to pimp my new stuff too much. I’ll do that next Friday and talk more about the album after that sometime. Right now, I just want to let you know of some of the places where you can preorder it now.

Amazon: Preorder More Awesome Than Awesome now, and you’ll even be able to download one of the tracks, “Stick It to the Man,” immediately.

Bandcamp: If you want the most flexibility in file format, Bandcamp is the way to go. On top of that, you get “Stick It to the Man” right away, and it’s also probably the cheapest way to get the album and/or single tracks, since I set the pricing myself. Other outlets set their own prices. Also, you can get a nice discount if you choose to buy all my music there at once.

iTunes: Like on Amazon and Bandcamp, you can preorder the album now and get “Stick It to the Man” at the time of purchase. All the cool kids buy their stuff on iTunes.

New Shirt: I’ve got a cool new shirt on Amazon too. Get it if you haven’t already.

Heat Stroke – The Retrospective

My new album Heat Stroke came out 3 years ago! It was unleashed unto the world on January 27th, 2015. I wanted to document the writing,  recording, and preparation for release of the album. You know, just in case someone cares. I think I genuinely care, but maybe there are others out there that might be interested. Some of this might have already mentioned in the Recording Heat Stroke series, but this should be less fluffy. I’ll preface this by saying I’ve rewritten this retrospective once completely, and again once or twice partially. Originally, I talked a little bit about each song in the order that I remembered working on it. I thought it would be more interesting that way, but after reading it over, I decided that wasn’t the case. And that’s mostly because for about half of the songs I wasn’t absolutely sure when I started working on them. Or if I did remember the order, I was going back and forth between them all the time, so it was hard to say which I really started in which order. Anyway, I’ve since reworked this so that the songs are talked about in the order that they appear on the album. Enjoy. Continue reading “Heat Stroke – The Retrospective”

My Next Album Will Be Weird

Over the last few months, I’ve been trying to explain on here what steps I’m taking to make a decent album. Not that I listen to my old stuff THAT much, but I probably listen to it more than anyone else. And I’ve come to discover what I don’t like about some of it. Details on all that has been explained at length on here before, but in short, some songs go on too long and others are just kind of boring. So I’m trying to make shorter, more interesting songs now. Continue reading “My Next Album Will Be Weird”

Kill the Buffalo Single Releasing Soon!

Awwww yeah. That’s right. My new song “Kill the Buffalo” is ready to be heard! If you like your songs heavy, about specific clothing patterns, shortish, and a tad strange, “Kill the Buffalo” is for you!

Creating this song has been quite the experience for me. My goal with these upcoming songs is to pay more attention to certain aspects and less attention to other aspects compared to my older songs. I’ll get into all that stuff in a later post.

Oh, you wanted to know when you’ll be able to listen to “Kill the Buffalo?” Sure, I’ll tell you. The release date is April 28th, 2017. Hey, that’s less than 4 weeks away! Can you believe it?! And if all goes as planned, there will be an accompanying video to go along with it. Then…maybe a full-length album will be imminent…

Fun times. Let’s do this crap.

The Making of Merry Effing Christmas

Hey, did you know I’m releasing a Christmas song called “Merry Effing Christmas” this Friday? You didn’t? Oh, well, I am. I announced it a week ago. Where have you been?

Yes, this Friday, December 16th, 2016, this little song called “Merry Effing Christmas” by Robby Suavé will be available for you to buy, stream, steal, or ignore! Work on it began in late October if my memory serves me correctly. As is probably predicted by anyone, working on a Christmas song in October is strange. While everyone was getting dressed up as vampires and witches, gobbling up candy, having fun and whatever, I was holed up at my computer, constructing a song about Christmas instead. Not that I didn’t have fun making the song of course, but…it’s complicated. Continue reading “The Making of Merry Effing Christmas”

Merry Effing Christmas!

Merry Effing Christmas
Yes, I made a Christmas song! Fittingly entitled “Merry Effing Christmas,” it sort of exhibits my feelings on the holiday. I’ll save the details of the songwriting process for later, but right now I just want to announce the thing. It was sent for digital distribution yesterday with a release date of December 16th. Depending on your preferred streaming service of choice, you might not get to hear it where you want in time for Christmas unfortunately. But it will be on Bandcamp and YouTube on the 16th for sure, since I’m in control of those outlets. Amazon tends to be pretty quick with putting music up. iTunes is a little slower. And then for the various streaming services, Spotify is usually on time, but the others are less swift in updating.

So yeah, an awesome Christmas song is coming to your earholes in a couple weeks. It’s a fun and upbeat little ditty. I’ll remind you once or twice in the meantime, but still, don’t forget!

Boobs, Butts, and Feets Is Now Available!

Boobs, Butts, and Feets
Hooooooooly balls! Before I talk about the good news (the album is finally released), I’ll acknowledge the fact that it’s been over a month since my last blog update and what’s been happening during that time. You might have noticed that this site was down for just about that entire time. I’ll spare you from all that drama in this post, but I’ll write about it in a future post, in case you’re interested. Anyway, so that delayed the release of the album a bit. I kind of wanted to be able to post about the album before or just after it was available for listening, so…yeah. On top of that, I ran into some weird music publishing snafu relating to Oxford commas and creative capitalization. Again, I’ll explain that in a future post.
