Reviving Modus Operandi, Pt. 2

If you’re reading this, Modus Operandi is probably already available to you! That’s exciting, of course, but I’ll post a formal announcement on that tomorrow.

Today’s post is about some general notes and differences between the original, crappy, unmastered version of the album that I thought I was done with in August of 2010. All the tracks are at least a little shorter than they were before, usually due edits during long-winded instrumental sections. Or it was from making fade-ins and fade-outs a little quicker. Reviving Modus Operandi, Pt. 1

I considered doing a drawn-out blog series about me going back and making my 2010 album, Modus Operandi, new again. That was the method for Punk Rebel Renegade and Boobs, Butts, and Feets. Modus Operandi is less of a classic album. Aside from one song on it that made its way to Rock Band via the Rock Band Network, it’s largely unknown. But that’s how most of my stuff is, so whatever. I’ve been talking about finally releasing this album to the public for a while, so this isn’t a big announcement, but it’s more of a formal behind-the-scenes talk. Random Blog Post #9


Much like when I record music, these Random Blog Posts are for myself more than for anyone else. So what follows might not be very entertaining to read. Either way, here goes…

Boobs, Butts, and Feets didn’t break sales records of any kind. I attribute that mostly to my lack of advertising. I’m planning on getting on that soon, but I hoped there would be more of a buzz about the without my assistance. I talked up Heat Stroke and Punk Rebel Renegade quite a bit, so the word was getting out there about those albums. My dream hasn’t been to be signed to a major record label or going on world tours. It’s been more of being some guy that an average person finds out about one of my songs organically, and then digs into the rest. Continue reading “Random Blog Post #9”
